Summary

A classic-like 8 TX-controls 2m ARDF event.

It is being held in association with the SN Trophy orienteering event organised by Southern Navigators Orienteering Club. Orienteering Event details

Location and Parking:

Assembly and Parking is at the same location as the SN Event.
The event will be sign posted from the B3015, The Maultway, Camberley.
There is a £1 per car parking fee.
Parking is adjacent to the Assembly area Lat,Lng: 51.31435,-0.69488

The map is 1:10,000 5m contours. Waterproof A4 paper.
Updated 2019 with a small extension from that as used in JK 2019 day2.

Never been used previously for ARDF.

Hilly woodland with areas of intricate contours.
Routes through quiet residential areas may be an option.
Railway and canal passing through the area.

Adjoins the previously used Frith Hill and Mytchett maps.

Format of the Event

The event will conform to the general principles of IARU events, but will be less formal than a Championship. There will be a maximum of eight transmitters and an MO beacon near the finish. Competitors can elect to hunt all eight 'foxes' (long course) or a specified five (short course).

07:23 Sunrise
09:30 Registration opens. Information sheets issued to ALL entrants.
10:30 First Start
14:00 Courses close.
16:11 Sunset.

Fees

Entry fee is £8
Entire fee will be passed to SN to cover land access, facilities and maps.

Procedures

In accordance with the informality of the event the organisers will not require you to deposit your receiver in a pound before the transmitters start sending.
They do expect you to respect the spirit of this concession by refraining from using your receiver until reporting to officials in the start area and then only under their supervision.
The 'flags' for the competition will be the 15cm training type.
The orienteering competition will be using regular 30cm 'flags'.

Safety

All participants are warned that parts of the area are open and the organisers may require competitors to carry a cagoule
You are responsible for your own safety.
Whistles should be carried (the emergency signal is 6 blasts repeated at 1 minute intervals).

Loan Equipment

Receivers for 144MHz are available on loan.
