Radio Society of Great Britain

Sun 29 September

Summary
The event is being run on a Sunday and comprises a classic 80m competition with a FoxO event later in the day. There will be a five transmitter course and a four transmitter course available.

Location
Ashenbury Park at Woodley near Reading

click here for a map showing the location of the car park.
The area comprises the park plus the housing estate to the south of the park. Parking is free in a large car park.and event registration will be located there.

Terrain
The area is in two distinct parts. Ashenbury Park is a small, mainly open area of parkland. To the south is a housing estate with direct entry into the park. This estate also has some open areas within its bounds and there are many footpaths connecting the roads.

Clothing
Paths are predominately hard surface man made – ordinary trainers will be fine, no studs. There are no areas of dense bramble/nettles, gaiters and shin protection is not needed; wear comfortable clothes for light running and walking.

Format of Event
The event will conform to the general principles of IARU events, but will be less formal than a Championship.
There will be a 5 transmitter Classic event using 80m to start the day (Hidden transmitters on 3520kHz and Beacon on 3580kHz. 1 watt TX to 2.5m wire antenna). This will be followed by a 5 transmitter FoxOring event (using 3560kHz and 250mm whip antennas. Keyed with morse ID (letters G, H, I, J, K)). It will be possible to hunt fewer than all 5 of the transmitters. This will be a relaxed event with the distances between the transmitters less than usual.
It is hoped to use I-button timing.
