Summary
80m IARU style ARDF at Ufton Woods, Burghfield Common, Berkshire

Ufton Woods are part of an extensive woodland area managed by the Englefield Estate, on the Berkshire / Hampshire Border.

Format:
10 foxes to find with all the transmitters in the 80m CW band sub-band, somewhat similar to the IARU sprint format, but with longer transmission times and transmitter spacing.
Courses will be available for full and shorter distances.

Location:
Silver Lane, Mortimer West End. SU628 652, nearest post code RG7 4QR. South of Reading, off the main road between Burghfield and Tadley (PadworthRoad / Reading Road)
At a crossroad with the Padworth Road and Ramptons Lane turn north into Silver Lane, which is marked as a single track road with passing places.
Please park sensibly on the verge on the right, within 100m of the junction.

Maps:
Scale - 1:10,000, contours - 5 meters, printed in colour on water resistant A4 paper.
Maps will be given to competitors at the starting point.

Transmitters:
Two groups of 6 transmitters, each consisting of 5 ‘hidden’,sequenced transmitters only on for 30 seconds, and a continuous beacon with its position marked on a map.
Group 1 sequenced Txs: 3.520MHz, beacon :3.540MHz.
Group 2 sequenced Txs: 3.560MHz, beacon: 3.580MHz.

80m Antennas: 5m vertical wire with a 5m ground counterpoise.

Registration:
from 10:00 to 11:00 for starts from 10:30 - 11:30 am
Course closes 14:00.

Entries:
Entry fee is £5 per entrant, payable on the day. This fee is to cover the cost of land access and map printing.

80m DF equipment is be available for loan, but numbers are limited, so it is advisable to reserve.

Punching:
I-button electronic punching will be used. Dibbers will be provided free but there will be a £5 charge if not returned.
